Description
Anička and Honzík are twins. Besides their mom and dad, they also have a great grandma and grandpa with a magical walking stick. It is made from wood of various trees. At first, both siblings do not know much about trees, but then their grandpa starts telling them stories about them. You can also listen to the stories that Honzík and Anička experienced with their grandpa and sometimes with their grandma in the forest and in the garden. The book aims not only to entertain children with beautiful storytelling but also to educate them about what each tree looks like, where it grows, what its leaves are like, what season it signifies, and how it is useful to us. Recognizing trees is aided by illustrative pictures and simple questions, allowing children to easily check if they have remembered the newly acquired knowledge. The book is based on a very successful program for kindergartens that Vladimíra Ottomanská published in 2020 with Portál under the title Year of Trees and has already seen several reprints. The book is intended for children aged 5 and up.
