The book tells the story of a well-known Czech family with an autistic son, Matěj, whose passion became painting traffic maps. It openly, yet with a sense of perspective, describes life with autism, incidents full of judgments and rejection, as well as understanding, humanly significant encounters, and incremental progress and joys. Like on a subway route, we set off from the starting station, navigating through a labyrinth of life stops that present greater challenges due to autism than they may seem to a healthy person, passing by several transfer stations where the plot could have significantly changed, and looking forward to the last one, which will be Matěj's acceptance or rejection at the secondary art school. The graphically striking book is illustrated with Matěj's original maps.
