Zooterapie v kostce - Minimum pro terapeutické a edukativní aktivity za pomoci zvířete – Bicková Jaroslava (2020)

In today's challenging times, the number of people suffering from various physical, psychological, or social problems is increasing. At the same time, one of the strongest bonds in human society is the bond with animals. Sometimes, the mere presence of someone who is there just for us, who does not judge, and is always willing to be close – our animal friend – can serve as a proven remedy for the soul. The publication aims to present an overview of the most well-known and commonly used zootherapeutic methods and procedures and to familiarize readers with ways to utilize them. It focuses not only on the necessary theoretical information but also includes specific case studies and descriptions of real interventions. Currently, zootherapy is predominantly perceived as one of the methods of comprehensive rehabilitation that utilizes the positive effects of animals on human health. Unfortunately, in the Czech Republic, there is a complete lack of any unified system or mandatory minimum for the education of zootherapeutic workers and the testing of animals used in zootherapy.
