Description
Many people I told about my autism were initially very surprised. They associated this term primarily with certain film characters, highly gifted but socially less adept individuals, or the cliché of a rocking child who doesn't want to be touched. At the same time, I was very afraid to touch on this topic, based mainly on incorrect information. So I tried to describe my autism to them. It was not at all that simple, as words alone were usually not enough to explain so many different aspects of the entire spectrum. Instead of having an abstract 'report,' I thought: Why not draw it? That way, most situations will be much clearer – and hey, if it can also be funny here and there, I will also relieve the reader's fear of touching on the topic. Humor easily crosses the threshold of shyness. The comic will appeal to those interested in autism and comics with psychological themes. Daniela Schreiter is a young woman with autism. She wrote and illustrated the book.
