Haló, haló, paní Kočko! – Paľo Ľuboslav (2018)

The picture book about the mouse brothers contains everything a children's book for the youngest readers should have: crazy and masterfully captivating illustrations, mischief, humor, a simple story full of tension, a catchy rhyme, and a message about the value of cooperation and friendship that overcomes all hardships. It is one of the most popular children's picture books in Slovakia. The book received the Golden Apple at BIB 2005 and has been translated into English, German, and Korean. For the youngest children, this book can be their first encounter with the world of true artistic work. Many Slovak kindergartens have chosen this book to explain the value of friendship. It is primarily intended for children aged 3-8 years. Ľuboslav Palo is among the most well-known and acclaimed Slovak illustrators (35 illustrated titles). He has received numerous prestigious awards for his work, such as the Golden Apple BIB 2005, the Associate Prize at the Oita Biennial of Illustration 2004, and recognition in the Most Beautiful Books of Slovakia competition. He teaches theory and practice of illustrated books at VŠVU. For Portál, he illustrated the book Kamzík's Big Leap.
