Description
Little Ida lives in a children’s home and longs for a mother and father. She is not as assertive as the other children, so she rarely receives a cuddle or gets to sit on someone’s lap. She spends her days standing by the window, watching to see whether a new mother and father will arrive. On the evening before Christmas Eve, she sees a falling star outside the window. She knows that a falling star can grant wishes, so she wishes with all her heart for a mother and father. At the other end of town, Mr and Mrs Anděl long in vain for a child. They also see the falling star and both wish for their family to grow. Since Christmas is a time when wishes come true, everyone’s desires are eventually fulfilled. The book is intended for children of younger school age.
