Society – immigration policy – the fates of refugees Should we provide asylum to refugees who often face torture and death at home, or not? Should we not degrade and torture refugees in state facilities and provide them with the healthcare they are entitled to by law, or deny them basic human rights? The collected documents indicate that the relevant department of the Ministry of the Interior and most other state-supported organizations dealing with refugees have a clear stance on these issues. Unfortunately, it is to the detriment of refugees, who become victims of a system in the Czech Republic that prioritizes, for example, the interests of Russian intelligence services (FSB - former KGB) over helping people who have gone through the hell of war and risked everything to reach a 'safe country' to save at least their children from violence. Reports from leading global human rights organizations about innocent victims of regimes in various countries do not receive much attention from our authorities. This study documents in detail the bitter experiences of some individuals who applied for asylum in the Czech Republic. These are just a few of the many known cases, yet it is clear that this is a systemic issue. The fates of thousands of people end up uncontrollably in the hands of a few officials...
