Dingelbach, a village at the foot of the Taunus. The village shop of the Haller family has been the center and heart of the entire community for many years. However, much has changed over time.
Frieda is attending acting school in nearby Frankfurt, and her studies are slowly coming to an end. Yet, she has no intention of leaving her hometown; she is especially attached to her little sister Ida, who is successfully studying at the gymnasium. Herta, the oldest and most sensible of the sisters, continues to be a great support to her mother in the shop. However, an unexpected change is soon to occur in her life as well…
