Description
Vienna, 1932. Erich is still a boy when he comes to Dr Hans Asperger at the Vienna university hospital. He does not see the world like other children. He can solve highly complex mathematical problems but cannot express his feelings. After terrible years with a foster family, he experiences affection and understanding for the first time. Viktorine, a nurse, becomes deeply attached to Asperger’s young pupil. When the Nazi regime takes control of the pioneering work in her department, her world collapses. While Dr Asperger tries to adapt to the new rulers, Viktorine is horrified to discover what is happening at the Spiegelgrund clinic. Erich, who has been transferred there, finds himself in mortal danger.
