Description
Máriddja has just learned that she doesn't have much time left. She accepts her fate with furious resignation and quickly moves on to more pressing matters: how to hide her condition from her husband Biera. Sámi families are traditionally large, and the young are expected to care for the old. But Máriddja and Biera never had children. They once had a boy whom they loved above all, but he was taken from them. Fiancés Kaj and Mimmi have moved to a small village in northern Sweden. While Mimmi longs to start her own family, Kaj feels lost because he doesn't know who his father was or where he comes from. Then he finds a strange box full of Sámi handicrafts left to him by his mother. An unlikely chain of events is set in motion that ultimately leads him to a discovery that will change his life...
