Description
Vienna, the end of the 19th century. Young Sophie of Werdenfels takes up the position of lady-in-waiting to Empress Sisi. She experiences a fascinating life from the outside, but behind the scenes, it is an incredibly bigoted existence at the imperial court. She also has to attend the wedding of her great love Richard to Amalia of Thurn. When she is to be married against her will to a much older nobleman, she escapes from the imperial court to her sick uncle's café. There, she takes on her first tasks associated with the position of operational manager.
