Description
This biographical novel explores the life of the mysterious dancer known as Mata Hari, whose real name was Margaretha Zelle (1876–1917). Born in the Netherlands, she lived for a time with her husband in Sumatra, and after her marriage fell apart, she settled in Paris. She publicly performed as the daughter of a noble Brahmin and embellished her life story with many incredible anecdotes. Little did she know that her final role as a seductive German spy would ultimately lead her before a firing squad.
