A young widow, a driving school teacher, a suicide, and four angels – these are the protagonists of Michal Viewegh's book, which tells the story of a single day with narrative and compositional brilliance, at the end of which three human destinies intertwine into one. The author characterizes his novella as a brisk story about people, angels, and dying, and a book about all of us whose time has long been measured, yet we still behave as if we should be here forever.
