Description
Malala comes from Pakistan and first drew public attention at the age of eleven when she began writing for the BBC about life under Taliban rule and how her family fights for girls' education. In October 2012, she became the target of an attack – an unknown man shot her in the head as she was returning home from school on a bus. However, the girl miraculously survived, and her fate and the courage with which she continued her advocacy campaign in Pakistan earned her the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014. She recounted her life story in the book I Am Malala (Czech edition 2014). The new title focuses on the phenomenon of migration. Malala describes her own experiences as well as those of other migrants, the difficult conditions in refugee camps, the hopelessness, and the misunderstandings that refugees must face. Malala is seen as an inspirational figure worldwide, and her new book, which also addresses the fate of children, can resonate with younger readers.
