This little book captures the literary prototypes of future films, but the swiftly passing time has made them essentially prototypes of films for those with memories. "Jáchyme, hoď ho do stroje" is the first attempt by the author duo Smoljak-Svěrák to penetrate into cinematography. The penetration was successful, so we added "Marečku, podejte mi pero" and "Na samotě u lesa." You will also find the title "Vrchní, prchni" – my first independent screenplay and Smoljak's first independent direction. To ensure the volume isn't thin, we strengthened it with "Vesničku mou střediskovou." Zdeněk Svěrák
