In the field of architecture and construction, Fritz Todt and Albert Speer represented the absolute pinnacle at that time. It is ironic that the latter became more famous only due to the death of the former, engineer and builder Todt, who was, as the reader will find out, the most competent minister of the Führer in every respect. The author has also succeeded in presenting the inner world of Hitler's regime through a dual biography as seen by the main players of the time. It documents the fascination of both men with Hitler and the ideas of national socialism, which led them not only to the peak of power but also to a share in crimes against humanity.
