The importance of psychology in the entire medical field is increasingly recognized, and psychological topics are now part of most curricula. However, as the authors of this book have discovered, medical students face numerous obstacles that prevent them from studying psychological topics. Firstly, psychology is often considered a "soft" science in medicine. It's a bit like tripe soup – students either love it or hate it! With this publication, we aim to encourage skeptics to explore psychology more closely and to utilize it in clinical practice. Secondly, psychology is a broad discipline encompassing many fields. As a result, few students and doctors have the time to familiarize themselves with the rich array of psychological research and theories available today. Due to the breadth of psychology, it is therefore difficult for those in healthcare professions to determine which parts are most beneficial for clinical practice.
