The novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is a classic example of Verne's imagination and foresight, and its illustrated format will help make it accessible even to those children who are reluctant to wade through multi-page books. A mysterious sea monster is causing panic in all the world's oceans. This beast is already responsible for not only numerous ships but also many human lives. There is not a single place at sea where crews are safe! In response to frequent attacks, the American government sends an expedition to battle the creature with a clear goal - to track it down and destroy it. Among the members of the expedition are Professor Pierre Aronnax, a marine biologist, along with his loyal servant Conseil, and the world-renowned hunter, Canadian Ned Land. Together, they set out aboard the battleship Abraham Lincoln to confront the mysterious creature in the depths of the oceans. Will they manage to capture it? And will they uncover the secrets it hides?
