Description
In the mid-20th century, Václav Vojta developed a therapeutic concept based on observations of changes in spasticity during the manipulation of a school-aged child with infantile spastic diplegia - reflex locomotion. Reflex locomotion treatment represents a way to prevent the development of infantile cerebral palsy and its fixation, especially in 'at-risk infants' who do not yet visibly demonstrate spasticity, and is now an indispensable part of modern physiotherapy in neurology, orthopedics, and surgery for both pediatric and adult patients.
