This unique publication is dedicated to car brands such as Škoda, Tatra, Ifa, Trabant, Wartburg, Sachsenring, Syrena, Warszawa, Polski Fiat, Dacia, Oltcit, Zastava, Moskvič, Lada, Poběda, and Volga. For years, we encountered them on our roads; they were an inseparable part of the color of the pre-November era. Sometimes we turned up our noses at them, longing for something better, yet most of us had no choice. Thus, car-hungry citizens signed up on waiting lists, deposited earmarked savings at the savings bank, and later camped with sleeping bags and thermoses in front of Mototechny stores, hoping to secure a record and eventually bring home a coveted 'Žiguli.' Today, we can smile at that, but we should not forget. Not only that time but also the cars we drove then. In addition to the most famous passenger cars from the Eastern Bloc, the publication also recalls off-road vehicles like GAZ, UAZ, and ARO, microbuses such as Barkas, Nysa, Žuk, and RAF, sports coupes like Melkus and ÚVMV, as well as luxury limousines like Čajka, ZIM, ZIS, and ZIL, which were used by communist dignitaries.
