Němčina pro lékaře - Manuál pro praxi – Mokrošová Ivana (2009)

The publication is intended not only for medical students but especially for doctors who travel abroad - to German-speaking countries (especially to the Federal Republic of Germany). In this form and scope, it fills a previously empty space in our book market. It contains a detailed description of individual bodily systems (including images) as well as basic terms necessary for familiarizing oneself with the healthcare system in Germany. It also addresses taking medical history in general and in specialized cases, covering the most significant areas of diseases and the usual way of communicating with patients in such cases. Furthermore, it mentions how to write official letters, keep reports, and fill out necessary forms. The publication is supplemented by a summary of basic grammatical phenomena. The author - a university teacher - has long worked at the 1st and 2nd Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague, focusing on the scientific medical language. In addition to university scripts, she has also published a German-Czech and Czech-German medical dictionary.
