Communication represents one of the most important human abilities. For a person to communicate with others, they need to have well-developed communication skills. Disruptions in these skills often pose obstacles to an individual's education and socialization. Speech therapy focuses on disrupted communication abilities. This textbook on speech therapy is intended for students of special education in all forms of study, but it can also serve to provide information to parents of children with disrupted communication abilities and adults who are dealing with this issue. The author briefly analyzes the causes of various types of disruptions and their main symptoms. For each category, she briefly describes the possibilities for diagnosis and therapy.
