This publication is intended for students of general medicine for use in practical exercises as well as for home preparation. The aim is to familiarize users with the basics of grammatical and lexical phenomena necessary for both theoretical and preclinical fields, as well as for clinical disciplines themselves - particularly the grammar of Latin nouns and adjectives, an explanation of basic phenomena of Latin and Greek word formation, or an introduction to Latin prescriptions. Especially in this last-mentioned field, informed members of the public may find useful information. An integral part includes introductory explanations describing pronunciation, grammatical categories, and the basic structure of Latin medical terms. All grammatical and lexical phenomena are supported by appropriate examples from real, i.e., authentic documents, such as anatomy textbooks, hospital information systems, clinical reports, and case study notes. The book is supplemented by an essential central dictionary of Latin medical terms.
