Description
Protest movements such as Black Lives Matter, Fridays for Future and NiUnaMenos oppose racism, the climate catastrophe and violence against women. Although their forms of resistance differ, they all fundamentally struggle against capitalism, which in the name of profit and property turns living nature into dead matter and manifests itself through authoritarian tendencies, racially motivated acts and climate change. Philosopher Eva von Redecker (born 1982) presents a critique of capitalism from the perspective of Berlin critical theory, developing her argument with exceptional care through metaphors and references to antiquity. In contemporary forms of protest, she recognises the beginnings of a revolution for life, promising a new, solidaristic approach to our basic activities: caring instead of controlling, regenerating instead of extracting, and participating instead of increasing value.
