Description
This important study by Canadian literary theorist Linda Hutcheon was first published in 1988. In its account of postmodernism, focusing especially on historiographic metafiction, it builds on existing theories of postmodern architecture. Hutcheon neither defends nor ridicules postmodernism, but seeks to develop a model of postmodern culture capable of capturing its self-reflexive and parodic features, together with its attempt to establish roots in the historical world. She examines this in a situation that does not represent the end of culture as such, but rather its questioning and erosion from within. The contents are in Czech.
