Description
This Czech-language second volume of the third expanded and revised edition of Husite Revolution combines the third and fourth parts of previous editions. Research has advanced considerably in recent years, making it necessary to revise or adapt the original version wherever appropriate or essential. The sixth chapter in the complete sequence describes the development of reform efforts from their beginnings under Charles IV to the struggles over parishes and pilgrimages to the mountains in 1419. The next two chapters chronicle the revolutionary events: the seventh examines the conflict up to 1426, while the eighth covers the rule of the radical brotherhoods up to the accession of King Sigismund of Luxembourg to the Czech throne. The final chapter addresses the consequences, responses and prospects of the premature Czech Reformation. New findings and additions also appear in the notes and the bibliography of literature and sources.
