Description
The book is a reissue of the four-volume textbook of medical chemistry by Jan Horbaczewski (1854–1942), which was originally published by Grosman and Svoboda between 1904 and 1908. It offers a brilliant selection of the then-current chemical knowledge and remains inspiring in its composition and approach to explanation even today – more than a hundred years later. The reprint of the book, supplemented by an introductory study by Stanislav Štípek and a biographical profile of J. Horbaczewski by Tomáš Zima, is published on the occasion of the 165th anniversary of the author's birth.
