Description
The monograph by the staff of the Department of Physical Education at Charles University PedF in Prague is primarily intended for teachers (not only in the 2nd stage of primary schools) and undergraduate students at pedagogical faculties, but its broad theoretical and practical scope can also provide necessary information to a wider range of professionals in physical education and sports. It first focuses on the theoretical foundations of the physical education process in terms of the relationship between theory and practice, history, didactics, anthropomotorics, movement apparatus diagnostics, issues of supporting disadvantaged students, youth sports training, and talent selection. It then presents detailed didactic approaches to the actual implementation of school (and extracurricular) physical education in accordance with the goals of the Framework Educational Program (RVP) – from health-related physical education to athletics, gymnastics (sport, rhythmic, and conditioning), games (movement, sports, and unconventional), swimming, grappling, to outdoor activities (hiking, rope activities, skiing, snowboarding, and skating). Thus, it provides interested parties with detailed guidance on the issues and facilitates teachers in translating the requirements of the RVP into a specific school educational program.
