Description
Published in connection with the exhibition of the same name held at the Prague City Gallery from 4 May to 25 September 2016, this book contains essays by Petr Wittlich, Sandra Baborovská and Marie Rakušanová tracing the development and significance of Czech sculpture at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, together with selected period texts that help illuminate the intellectual milieu in which this development took place. Photographs from sculptors’ estates provide a unique insight into how sculptors viewed their own work.
