Description
The monograph focuses on the issue of gender in language – examining the influence of the gender factor on the phraseology of three related languages (Belarusian, Polish, and Czech). The author conducts an analysis of the linguistic material from a linguocultural perspective. In her research, she observes formal similarities and differences between the languages, but primarily seeks to uncover the distinct and common features in the perception of men and women, their nature, and behavior in three Slavic cultures. Based on the classification and evaluation of the collected material, she provides a detailed description of the concepts of 'man' and 'woman' in phraseology. Among other things, the work addresses the question of whether it is possible to speak of the marginalization of women in language at the phraseological level and to what extent this phenomenon is influenced by social factors compared to purely linguistic factors.
