This Czech-language book takes children on a journey through seven richly illustrated double-page spreads, revealing the secrets of university life to preschoolers. Their guides are preschool twins Teo and Lea, with whom children experience a whole academic year, from the exciting start of studies through leisure activities and challenging exams to the ceremonial graduation. Each event is shown alongside similar occasions at preschool to make the subject easier to understand. Alongside university life, the book explores the changing seasons, holidays such as Halloween, Christmas, Three Kings’ Day and Easter, as well as disability, ecology and music. It is filled with colourful picture-reading scenes and entertaining tasks that reveal the secrets of academic life, including finding hidden pictures and a lost parrot. Further activities are included in the free teaching resource “Our University Town: How to Work with the Book?”, which helps nursery-school teachers build on the basic activities and develop children’s curiosity.
