Firearms demonstrate the highest level of craftsmanship and technological skill of the eras in which they were created. Although their main purpose is hunting or fighting, they cannot be overlooked, as they are part of our history. The East Bohemian Museum in Pardubice and the Museum of Local History in Olomouc have extensive firearm collections, which are presented in exhibitions in Olomouc and subsequently Pardubice between 2024 and 2026. Curators have selected 100 weapons that either made history or are unique in some way, introducing them through short accounts of their origins, owners, journeys into museum collections and other distinctive features. The selection also charts the development of firearms. This Czech-language publication includes photographs showing the finest details of their technical solutions and artistic decoration over almost 400 years.
