Description
Franz Spunda is one of the few relatively well-known German-writing authors associated with Olomouc. In 2014, the Olomouc Arbeitsstelle für deutschmährische Literatur organised an international conference on Spunda and his work and published a critically acclaimed collection of papers, but it had not yet published any of his works in Czech translation. The translator chose Baphomet, one of Spunda’s most widely read early works, an alchemical novel first published in 1928 and later released in numerous reprints and licensed editions. At the time, it became part of the then-popular current of magical, mystical and occult literature, which is once again gaining popularity today. The contents are in Czech.
