Description
Police chief Kate Burkholder is asked for help by the sheriff from rural New York to assist the locals in resolving a matter concerning a reclusive Amish settlement and the death of a young girl. Since the sheriff is unable to overcome the wall of silence that stands between the Amish and the rest of the locals, he asks for Kate's help, who is to infiltrate the local community in disguise. Kate's partner, state agent John Tomasetti, is fundamentally against her taking on such an unusual task, knowing well that Kate will have very limited means of communication with the outside world among the Amish – and even less chance of calling for help. But Kate can no longer back down, especially when disturbing rumors about endangered children are circulating around the settlement...
