Description
In the year of our Lord 1681. The executioner of Schongau, Jakob Kuisl, sets out with his family on a pious pilgrimage to Altötting. At that time, noble guests gather at the famous pilgrimage site: the Austrian Emperor Leopold I and the Bavarian Elector Max Emanuel want to establish a "Holy Alliance" in front of the Black Madonna and unite in the fight against the Turks. However, a murder soon occurs, and Kuisl senses that someone wants to thwart the alliance of the rulers. Together with his daughter Magdalena and the rest of the family, he begins to search for the mysterious murderer.
