Description
While the royal judge Melichar searches for the stolen relic from St. Vitus Cathedral, his charming wife Jitka, née from Michalovice, decides to celebrate the completion of the renovation of Roupov Castle into a noble residence that will dignify her husband's status. She invites all the prominent nobles of the Czech Kingdom to the feast at Roupov. However, Melichar learns about this too late and has no time to dissuade his wife. He is well aware that various disputes among the Czech lords prevent them from gathering at one table. To make matters worse, one of the guests, Hynek of Valdek, the son of the former chief marshal Vilém Zajíc of Valdek, is found dead the morning after the feast. The royal judge's assistant, Božetěch, comes under serious suspicion. Therefore, Melichar must clarify the nobleman's death as quickly as possible, or he will lose his authority as a royal judge and likely his position as well.
