Description
Whitney Loverly sits by her little son Xavier's hospital bed, who is in a coma after falling out of the window in the middle of the night. Tormented by guilt and remorse, she doesn't speak to anyone while her husband, neighbors, and friends try to come to terms with the role they played in the events that led to the terrible tragedy: estranged spouses Blair and Aiden Parks, the Loverlys' best friends, Rebecca and Ben Goldsmith, who are desperately trying to start their own family, and finally, Mara Alvaro, a Portuguese retiree haunted by her personal tragedy. Against the backdrop of Xavier's fight for life unfolds a story about the trials of motherhood and what happens when women refuse to listen to their whispers.
