Description
Once every ten years, the energy of the Sun and the stones that keep evil deities at bay must be renewed. Therefore, the deity Sol chooses ten teenage demigods to compete in the Sunbearer Trials. The winner earns glory and a place among the Heroes, while the defeated serve as sacrifices to Sol to protect their people. Teo is one of the ordinary Jadeites, so he doesn't worry about himself – but he is concerned for his friend Niyu and Aurelia, with whom things are just... complicated.
