Řeka pod hladinou: Vědomím proti času – Kolář Pavel (2023)

In June 2018, a seriously injured man was brought to St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, discovered by indigenous hunters on the banks of the Tatshenshini River in the Yukon area. The unknown man, in a state of confusion, recounts his story about Sofia Hartenová, who has been missing for some time. Soon, this man is identified as a rafting guide from the Czech Republic. His story, unfolding on the brink of life and death, illustrates what time means in human life. One stage ends, another begins, the backdrop changes – yet a person remains under the pressure of extreme situations that they must overcome and make decisions in. The astonishing narratives of Pavel and Josef lead from the present through various historical periods to the roots of humanity in the African rift valley. The river beneath the surface is like our wishes, desires, and above all, the hope that gives a person the strength to navigate the shadowy phases of life with courage and trust. A dream called Sofia, reality, or a revelation? Who knows... "The Tatshenshini River exists, just like the courses we regularly hold abroad," smiles Pavel Kolář. And Josef? He lives among us and still carries his mysterious story beneath the surface of his consciousness.
