Meanwhile, strange reports are coming from the remote corners of the empire. Rebels from the desert have chosen the crippled and disfigured Worlih as their leader. They believe his deformity grants him a special strength that will help them prevail. Meanwhile, in the forests far to the north, the blood of fairy women has soaked the trees. Strange fissures appear in the sky. Some even claim that the temples are empty, the gods are dead, and the dead are rising from their graves. Denyela does not believe the tales and tries first and foremost to save her father's legacy. However, she will soon find out for herself that not all incredible stories are fabricated.
