Description
After a meeting with Duke Albrecht of Habsburg in České Budějovice in the autumn of 1350, Charles IV participates in a hunt near Zvíkov. However, among the hunters who gathered at the meeting point after the hunt, the king is missing. Searchers find him unconscious, with a broken jaw and a damaged cervical spine. Was the injury caused by an accident, or was it someone's intention? When the corpse of a peasant, equipped with the Habsburg seal, is found nearby, the scales slowly tip towards an assassination attempt on the king. Therefore, the commander of the king's protective guard, Karel Rozoumek, calls for help from friends and also embarks on a search himself. Behind the closed gate of Zvíkov Castle lies the mortally wounded Czech and Roman king. Will Rozoumek manage to uncover who attempted to kill the king? Will the king's doctor be able to heal Charles IV?
