Description
1893: Augustin Rothmayer works as a gravedigger at the famous Vienna Central Cemetery. The grumpy oddball is also a very well-read and educated self-taught man. In his spare time, he writes an Almanac for Gravediggers. However, Inspector Leopold von Herzfeldt disrupts his peace. The young policeman needs an expert on everything related to death. He is investigating the brutal murders of Viennese maids. Each of them was mercilessly stabbed with a stake. The gravedigger knows that this was the way the dead were kept in their graves since ancient times to prevent them from harming the living. Is there a killer in Vienna who believes in vampires?
