Description
A psychological-pornographic novel about guilt, emptiness, and hope. Mark Stejskal's life is marked by a kind of inherent sense of guilt. His mother suffered from severe mental illness, and when he was in middle school, she committed suicide. For incomprehensible reasons, he developed skin cancer at the age of twenty-nine, from which he recovered at the cost of surgery and intense chemotherapy. He rightfully feels that life owes him something. And that something is happiness. His relationship with his wife Romana is burnt out, and their studying daughter has moved out and is living her own life. Although Mark is a successful stock trader and investor, this kind of livelihood does not satisfy him mentally. He feels that through speculation, he creates nothing, only profits from the system. Mark meets an old classmate, Jirka, a former class troublemaker and now a powerful boss and porn magnate, and he embarks with him to Hamburg, where he discovers another world and meets Veronika. His life begins to take a completely new direction, but will he finally achieve the desired feeling of happiness? What comfort, vision, or meaningful path does the contemporary world actually offer to the lost, unhappy, and searching? And does it offer anything at all?
