The games of the XXXII Olympic Games in Tokyo were postponed by a year due to the pandemic, held without spectators, and there were even opinions that they should not take place at all under these circumstances. The best response was the games themselves. The world united for the first time since the pandemic began. Sports were at the center of attention, and people experienced shared moments of happiness and encouragement. It gave us hope and faith in the future. Our Olympians achieved the best results in the history of the independent Czech Republic. The victory of Lukáš Krpálek in the Japanese national sport, the triumph of his friend from whitewater Jiří Prskavec, or the phenomenal shootout between two friends from Brno, Jiří Lipták and David Kostelecký, will be inscribed in golden letters in Czech sports history. The official publication of the Czech Olympic Committee documents the entire course of the number one sports festival day by day, detailing the participation of all Czech athletes as well as the main global stars and heroes of the Tokyo Olympics. It also includes a statistical overview and is accompanied by unique photographs.
