Friday, October 4, 1929. The grand opening of the Barrandov Terraces is the social event of the season. The orchestra of R. A. Dvorský plays for dancing and listening, while the Havlov brothers, Václav Mária and Miloš, welcome friends and prominent guests. The roaring twenties are at their peak, and the golden youth is enjoying them to the fullest. However, just as the party is at its height, a gunshot rings out on the dance floor, and a body lies on the floor… An unusual pair of investigators, besides the police, takes on the case. Emily Vavřincová, the only daughter of a wealthy Prague businessman, and Edgar Hollander, the new butler of the family, whom Emily passes off as a famous detective from Scotland Yard. What does it matter that Edgar doesn’t speak a word of English – the main thing is that the results of Emily's investigation are finally taken seriously by the police.
