The publication is a linguistic contribution to the broad interdisciplinary discussion on discrimination. The discriminatory instrumentalization of language means using language as a tool and means of discrimination, but also its misuse as a discriminatory reason. The fundamental question of the research was how language, or linguistic communication, contributes to the formation of discriminatory relationships and, in general, to the creation of discrimination as a social reality. The aim of the research was to demonstrate the instrumentalization of language in selected social areas (commercial, media, political) and relationships (inter-individual, institutional, or systemic, cultural) using various types of textual materials. The research on the discriminatory instrumentalization of language was conducted through critical discourse analysis methods. From a methodological perspective, the studied question (How does language contribute to the creation of discrimination?) applies a communicative-pragmatic approach, as language and linguistic communication are understood as a means of achieving certain goals of language users in linguistic interaction, in a specific context.
