The book "The Pedagogical Concept of Rudolf Fila" is primarily intended for past, present, and future educators and students of secondary art schools. It is likely to appeal to subject didactics specialists in art departments of pedagogical faculties and all enthusiasts of visual arts. Since Fila's teaching method was primarily inspired by the German Bauhaus school, the book first describes, against the backdrop of the ongoing industrial revolution of the second half of the 19th century, the historical development of reform artistic and craft ideas associated with the Arts and Crafts movement, German Jugendstil, and Viennese Secession. One of the peaks of these efforts was the establishment of the Bauhaus school in 1919. Its teaching structure and pedagogical methods used in the preparatory course became important sources of inspiration for many newly established art and applied art schools in Europe and America throughout the 20th century.
