Reflexia ruského formalizmu v diele.. (slovensky) – Pašteková Soňa (2023)

The traces of Russian formalism are implicitly present in the lifelong work of literary scholar Mikuláš Bakoš (1914 – 1972) and are inseparably linked to a wide range of his activities. They resonate in the fields of literary theory and history, scientific methodology, literary terminology, text analysis and interpretation, modern narratology, Slovak versology, and the reflection of literary avant-garde or contemporary comparative literary science. Bakoš's multifaceted reflection on the concepts of formalism operates on several levels: from the translation of theoretical works into Slovak to the integration of formalism's stimuli at the methodological and terminological foundations of his own literary scholarly works in the fields of literary avant-garde, structuralism, and historical poetics. The monograph examines the extent to which the impulses from the translations of theoretical works of Russian formalism were accepted and productive for the development of terminological instruments in the Slovak scientific environment. It focuses on mapping and reconstructing the translation and literary scholarly activities of M. Bakoš, emphasizing the translations of scientific texts by representatives of the Russian formal school, particularly significant prose theorists V. Shklovsky and B. Ejchenbaum.
