Description
The monograph addresses the problems of the contemporary developed academic world. The author characterizes the relationships between society (state, politics, business, media) and academic institutions, focusing on the changes and transformations that have occurred since 1945, which lead to the crisis phenomena of contemporary neoliberal academic capitalism. It does not shy away from discussing issues of quality, accreditation, evaluation, performativity, accountability, etc., which are framed by a critique of the instrumentalization of the academic world. The work has a post-disciplinary character, with its core being philosophical reflection. The author's analyses are based on his long-standing academic experience as well as on the study of rich foreign literature. This is a work that is lacking in our environment, even though its necessity and relevance have long matured. It is intended for a broad cultural public interested in what is happening in the academic world (at universities and in the academy of sciences), but also for academic workers who wish to understand what is happening in this world with themselves.
