Description
The Second Republic lasted very briefly, from the autumn of 1938 to the spring of 1939. Nevertheless, in these historically few days, one can very well observe the disintegration of the state, besieged essentially from all sides by enemies. This disintegration was caused not only by external enemies and European powers but also by the inhabitants of Czechoslovakia, for whom the Czechoslovak idea was an empty concept. The fate of the inhabitants of the Second Republic also unfortunately shows how easily society turns its back on the weakest, whether they were refugees from the border regions, political emigrants, or Jews.
